Friday 25th October - Work to the men's toilets is now complete. Photographs attached. Please click on the photograph (to the right) to enlarge them.

Work on the toilets began on the 7th October 2103. The men's, women's and accessible facilities are being improved in sequence, starting with the men's. The work will be finished in approximately 6 weeks.

Friday 26 July 2013. Rother District Council have informed us that they have accepted quotes for the improvement of the toilets. We're looking forward to the work commencing as soon as possible.

Previously we wrote:

We are negotiating with Rother District Council to make improvements to the presentation of the public toilets in Devonshire Square. We regard this as an important shopping facility in particular because:

  • there is no department store in the Town Centre which is where shoppers would expect to find toilets
  • these are the toilets for the newly opened Bexhill Farmers' Market
  • Devonshire Square could be a focal point for the town with events and activities happening there.

We support the use of the funds from Marks & Spencer for improving these facilities. These funds are held and managed by Rother District Council. The council's accounts are available on its web site.
