Replacement of lost trees in Bexhill Town Centre 2017

This spring 5 trees were replaced in the Town Centre. Other trees were pruned, and fed. The tree stump in Devonshire Road has gone and is replaced by a lovely Maple. Thanks to all involved at East Sussex County Council, Rother District Council and members of the community.

Replacement of lost tree in Bexhill Town Centre 2015

In the spring we replaced two trees in Bexhill Town Centre (see below). Sadly another tree in Devonshire Road failed to come into leaf this year. We will replace this tree in the forthcoming planting season. We are also looking at removing the tree stump from Devonshire Road.

Replacement of lost trees in Bexhill Town Centre

Rother District Councilís Town Centre Steering Group has approved a proposal from Bexhill Town Team to replace lost or damaged trees in the Town Centre. The work costing £1,000 will be done in the spring before the end of this planting season and will include removal of obsolete protection (mesh and stakes) from those younger trees which are now established.

Thanks to Roy Watts for all his efforts and James Newmarch of ESCC.

The work will be paid for with the funds that were allocated by Rother Distrcit Council to implement the Town Team's plans. These funds are held and managed by Rother District Council. Expenditure is voted on and approved by the Council's Town Centre Steering Group. Rother's accounts are available on its web site.
